Our consultant
Silvia Duque De Reyes / Transference San Diego County of Education
Spanish Language Arts/ELD Coordinator
We had the privilege of working with SIlvia Duque De Reyes on our inquiry project. She guided us on how to help students advance simultaneously in both languages in a 50/50 dual language program. We were able learn about the complexities of incorporating metalinguistics to our instructional day and learning to navigate the new common core standards. Together we developed a transformative unit of study that embodied a social justice theme as well as the rigor of the common core standards.
