Lesson plans and student work

Teaching robotics to young students seemed like a big task, so we began by creating a PowerPoint of the most basic concepts. We also used animation as a way for students to have an alternative way to represent their learning.

 

NEW TEACHING REQUIRES TAKING RISKS - ROBOTICS

As teachers, we knew that teaching robotics was going to be a bit of a challenge because the concepts are somewhat complex. We decided to begin with an introductory PowerPoint presentation which outlined the beginning ideas needed to understand robots.

STUDENTS LOVE CREATING WITH SAM (STOP ANIMATION MOVIE)

Students were really excited about being able to express their learning in new ways. SAM animation is a great software that allows children to make stop motion movies. Here is an enthusiastic student speaking about the animation process.Student animates original story through Sam Animation
