Staff Professional Development
As part of our learning, we wanted to share the plethora of knowledge we gained on our journey. We started by hiring UCLA Writer's Project director, Jane Hancock, to lead teacher's in a writers workshop that helped them develop connections to the book, Black Wings. After attending a NASA Rocketry Workshop, we contracted with NASA to facilitate some of the workshops for our staff. We also had the amazing Lynn Johns, from the UCLA Science Project, plan and conduct professional development on the school campus at the beginning and end of the 2012-13 school year. Our colleagues were officially indoctrinated and exposed to meaningful information about aerodynamics.
