Literacy Independence - Read to Self
Students shop for "Good Fit Books" to read during Daily 5. When students read books at their independent reading level they can focus on applying the accuracy and comprehension strategies we have taught so they can take root and grow, helping them become proficient readers. Student choosing to "Read to Self" as a Daily 5 choice. Each student has their own book box that holds 8-12 "Good Fit Books".
The best way to become a better is reader is to practice each day with good-fit books that are selected by each student.
