Through the UCLA TIIP grant, Road to Success Academy (RtSA) is partnering with Collective Voices Foundation to provide a curricular frame for the Beauty of the Arts thematic, interdisciplinary, project based unit for the months of July and August. Community based experts will provide weekly on-site professional development in the form of co-planning and co-teaching English Language Arts lessons rooted in various disciplines of the arts (e.g., music, performing arts, visual arts, musical theater, poetry, and movement/dance). Anchored in Common Core and California State Standards, this collaboration will be the focus of the academic component of RtSA's summer program and will result in a culminating project that ties together the various classroom learning experience.
