Nora Felix
Ms. Felix has been teaching at Lorena Street ES since 1999. She is the chair of the Literacy Committee and in charge of the school-wide Reading Incentive Program. She is a member of the Local School Leadership Council. She participated in a five day long teacher Art/ Language Arts seminar at the Getty Center and collaborated with the Getty's Art Educators.
Martha Alvarez
Ms. Alvarez has been teaching at Lorena Street ES since 1994. During this time she has served on various committees. She is currently a member of the Program Improvement team (PI), the Arts/Grant Writing Committee as well as an alternate for School Site Council. She was another teacher who participated in the five-day long Art/Language Arts seminar at the Getty Center and collaborated with the Getty's Art Educators.
Dr. Elizabeth Martinez
Dr. Martinez completed her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Social Justice. Her teaching career began in 1991, and she is a National Board Certified teacher. She is currently on the School Leadership Council and is a strong advocate for building community and school partnerships. Her research is on social/cultural capital and family engagement.
Peggy Pena
Ms. Pena is a National Board Certified teacher. She has been teaching since 1986. She is currently a member of the Student Success Team, which supports teachers, students and their families with structures to ensure learning success. She was the school's writing coach for four years, providing professional development to grade levels and school wide.
Rosa Isela Gutierrez-Garcia
Mrs. Gutierrez is a UCLA Alumna and has been a National Board Certified Teacher since 2008. She has been teaching English Language Learners since 1995. She has served on School Leadership and is currently on School Site Council. She is also the STEM-Up Ambassador and Getty Liaison. She recently completed her M.A. at CSULA in Educational Leadership.
