Sharing What We Have Learned With Other Teachers
Finding Audiences and Outlets
Several ideas have been bandied around about ways to disseminate the concepts and methods we have gathered. Cabrillo's faculty meets monthly for both the small learning communities and for the various academic departments. Short presentations with handouts can be made. Our group members can divide up the small learning communities to reach all our school’s teachers in one day. The same method can be applied to the department meetings. This division might be more useful. With teachers of the same discipline gathered, questions more directly applicable to the participants will be asked and answered. The frequent interaction between department colleagues will increase the likelihood that the information will be discussed. The twice yearly full faculty meetings are another opportunities for presentations.
Articles and other literature can be copied and placed in our colleagues mailboxes for examination when time permits. Also, multimedia presentations can be made available on the school website for concise transfer of information.
