In iBook Author, several templates are available, and you can add chapters and sections as you see necessary. The great thing about this application is that it allows you to make books that are interactive. Many ebooks seem to just be PDF's of paper books. iBook Author allows the author to add video, animations, 3D images, sound, image galleries, quiz questions, forms and shapes, charts, and widgets. 

  The icon sections are very similar to the Pages application for Mac; so if you are familiar with Pages, iBook Author should be very user friendly. 

We have had a great experience with iBook Author--finding interactive books very easy to create. We only wish that all our students had iPads so that we could write more books for them.  Ana recently wrote a book about Newton's Laws and her dog (Mr. Noodles). She had very positive reactions from the students that read it. They reported to be more interested in the content and wished that more interactive books were available.

If you have an Ipad and the iBook app, you can download Ana's iBook. She has not published it yet because she needs to add more content and review some copyright rules.
