Sequestered for 4 days of intensive training in the UCCI model and hands coupled with real work in collaboration with other teachers to produce an integrated course, this Institute served to bring all the pieces together and provided a template for planning the Geology of Disasters course that was more useful than anything else we had encountered before. The process highlighted the difficulties of writing new courses when surrounded by work and families and every day concerns.
Attending the Institute gave us the opportunity to meet and talk to the people who read and approve new courses. We gained invaluable insight into the process and how to format our course which we would otherwise have had to find out by trial and error.
