ASTE brings together teachers, teacher educators, scientists, science coordinators and supervisors, and informal science educators to develop, research and promote quality science instruction. This website provides information about professional development opportunities, upcoming events, and current research in science education.
The California Science Center
This website provides educators information about what exhibits and activities are currently available at the Science Center as well as information on science curriculum and instruction.
Exploratorium: The Museum of Science, Art, and Human Perception
Educators can search through the digital library for curricular and instructional materials such as lessons, demonstrations, experiments and digital media for use in the science classroom.
BIG PICTURE PROJECT BASED LEARNING
Big Picture Learning’s mission is to lead vital changes in education, both in the United States and internationally, by generating and sustaining innovative, personalized schools that work in tandem with the real world of the greater community. We believe that in order to sustain successful schools where authentic and relevant learning takes place, we must continually innovate techniques and test learning tools to make our schools better and more rigorous. Lastly, we believe that in order to create and influence the schools of the future, we must use the lessons learned through our practice and research to give us added leverage to impact changes in public policy. PBL-Buck Institute for Education
In Project Based Learning (PBL), students go through an extended process of inquiry in response to a complex question, problem, or challenge. Rigorous projects help students learn key academic content and practice 21st Century Skills (such as collaboration, communication & critical thinking).
