9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This institute is held in partnership with the Automobile Club of Southern California.  We will spend 5 days using the exceptional maps and photos of Southern California housed in the Auto Club Archives.  In honor of the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service the theme of the program will be conservation and environmental justice.  Teachers will receive a $300 stipend upon completion of a lesson.  3.5 UCLA Extension credits are available for a fee. 

Priority is given to 3rd, 4th, 8th and 11th grade teachers.

Location:  Auto Club Headquarters (just south of downtown Los Angeles).
