Grades:  Government and U.S. History Teachers

This workshop for Government and U.S. History teachers is being co-sponsored by the ACLU of Southern California and the Law and Education Society at the UCLA Law School.  Our agenda will include:

  • An overview of the Government chapter of the new California History-Social Science Framework.
  • A Keynote speaker on immigration politics.
  • Breakout sessions focused on court cases in the Framework involving search and seizure, LGBTQ students, and topics connected to the first amendment in schools.  These sessions will be led by a legal or policy scholars and teacher educators and will include resources for teachers.
  • A networking session with social justice activist organizations.
