The CSU Long Beach and UC Irvine History Projects and the UCLA History-Geography Project are offering a five-day workshop for 10th and 11th grade teachers focused on the Cold War.

This program is presented by the Southern California sites of the History-Social Science Project.  Teachers will delve into the many resources on the Library of Congress through hands-on historical investigation activities.   Teachers will also increase their knowledge of the Common Core and the Cold War’s global and domestic impact through readings, presentations by historians, and an exploration of the History Cold War Blueprint. The program kicks-off on May 9th with an overview of the History Blueprint: Cold War curriculum and a content presentation by a leading historian. In July, pedagogy sessions will focus on learning history content and academic literacy skills. The program will also include an academic year follow-up meeting in the fall of 2015 and spring of 2016.
